CORONAVIRUS
Latest Advice
Symptoms
The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:
  • New continuous cough and/or
  • High temperature
For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness If you have coronavirus symptoms:
  • Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital
  • You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home
  • Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home
  • Plan ahead and ask others for help to ensure that you can successfully stay at home and consider what can be done for vulnerable people in the household
  • Ask your employer, friends and family to help you to get the things you need to stay at home
  • Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water, or use hand sanitiser
  • If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days, then use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service. If you do not have internet access, call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999
  • Visit NHS 111 Online for more information

Stay at Home
  • If you live alone and you have symptoms of coronavirus illness (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. (See ending isolation section below for more information)
  • If you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill
  • It is likely that people living within a household will infect each other or be infected already. Staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community
  • For anyone in the household who starts displaying symptoms, they need to stay at home for 7 days from when the symptoms appeared, regardless of what day they are on in the original 14 day isolation period. (See ending isolation section below for more information
  • If you can, move any vulnerable individuals (such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions) out of your home, to stay with friends or family for the duration of the home isolation period
  • If you cannot move vulnerable people out of your home, stay away from them as much as possible

COVID-19

Changes to our operations and service

Please bear with us and be kind to our staff. We are exceptionally busy and re-organising our services to provide the best possible service.

  • We are now open from 2-5pm Good Friday and Easter Monday for urgent and acute prescriptions, medicine sales and advice. If you are collecting routine repeat prescriptions please DO NOT COME IN ON THESE DAYS. We are open as usual all other days.
  • Delivery is now avilable to anyone within the Hull and surrounding area but is a FREE SERVICE and IS NOT PAID for by the NHS. As a result we cannot guarantee a day or time that delivery can be made. We deliver at our discretion and prioritise end of life, acute urgent prescriptions based on clinical need. We cannot leave prescriptions on a doorestep, in a shed, behind a dustbin etc. Our driver must confirm who has received the medication on a patient's behalf, though will maintain social distancing for your and their safety and protection. As the service is FREE unlike some other pharmacies who are charging for each delivery, we ask that it not be abused or overburdened. Please also be aware that prescriptions sent to us by your doctor can take 48 hours to reach us and then we have to assemble items and in some cases, order unusual stock in. We require at least an extra 24 hours on top of the surgery timescales as our supplier's deliveries are restricted in these unusual times. We are doing are best to help people but miracles we do immediately, the impossible can take a bit longer!
  • Please queue outside with 2m gap between each person.
  • Only 2 people in the pharmacy at a time.

Thank you for your understanding

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please note that from the 1st April all requests for medication must be ordered through your GP practice directly. All pharmacies including online dispensing contractors will no longer be able to request medication on your behalf in any format. This will not change how you collect your prescription, it will still be sent to the pharmacy ready for collection 7-10 days after requests are received by your GP.

The following leaflet provides further details on how this change will affect you.

Repeat medication can be ordered directly through the NHS app, for more information or to download the app please see the following link.
